The SAMCARA CHROMA LIFE PROJECT wins Grand Prize
The CHROMA LIFE PROJECT, developed by a researcher at Keio University Graduate School of Media Design SAMCARA lab, received the Grand Prize at HENAI competition. CHROMA LIFE PROJECT is an effort to apply biodesign to letterpress printing from the perspective of circular design, and to explore the possibilities of sustainable and innovative printing technology. We developed a bioink derived from bacteria, which is biodegradable and has vivid coloring, while also enabling dynamic design expressions in which the color and texture change with changes in light and humidity.
