KMD x Global Grad Show, Dubai Design Week 2019

It was with great pleasure that 2 KMD projects were selected to be in the exhibition, and both were part of SAMCARA design research lab – “RAIKI” by KMD SAMCARA [Catalina Lotero, Marcelo Padovani, Olivia Peralta, Yuki Minegishi, Asuka Muramatsu, Atsushi Futatsuki, and Chris Gao], and also “OVA” a project by Dipali Aphale of RCA/Imperial College London who was part of SAMCARA with the GID program in 2018.
RAIKI is a bio-design project where the resulting design presented is both speculative and practical as it explored the potential for the generation of electricity via the triboelectric effect of surfaces touching applied to leaves.
