Play Exhibition 2021: Emotional Technologies

During the COVID-19 pandemic, electronic information played a crucial role in conveying emotions despite physical separation, though current technology still struggles to transmit feelings accurately. This exhibition presented three works imagining a future where emotions are shared more effectively. “Imageflowing” captured physical data such as breathing and heart rate, allowing viewers to experience a photographer’s emotions. “Advanced Warfare” synchronized game pieces and lights remotely, enabling players to sense each other’s emotional shifts. “Wear Eiyou” visualized nutritional intake through a wearable accessory, transforming body data into a tool for communication. These works explored innovative ways to connect emotionally and physically.
