Message from KMD Dean (KMD’s Response Measures to COVID-19)
2020.03.16
Dear KMD Students and New In-Take Students,
WHO has declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak a “pandemic”. Unfortunately, the situation continues to be a major threat at global scale. Your health is of utmost importance. Keio University Graduate School of Media Design (KMD) has decided to postpone the class starting date of Spring Semester 2020 to May 11th Monday. However, online induction and class designed for new incoming students will be scheduled from April 13th Monday to May 1st Friday and Crash Course will be held on May 7th Thursday and 8th Friday.
We are also preparing to roll out online participation for KMD classes as a contingency plan in case KMD needs to suspend in-person classes to provide social distancing. Details are still in discussion but we will make every effort to create a virtual platform so that your research, learning, and social activities at KMD will be meaningful and exciting.
We will communicate with you beginning of April for the details of Spring Semester. Meanwhile, do continue to engage in your Real Project and thesis writing. For courses offered by other Keio University schools and faculties, the university will make announcement on March 17th or later if there is a change in course schedule and academic calendar for other schools.
Stay safe and healthy.
Masa Inakage
Dean and Professor Keio University Graduate School of Media Design
